Dental implants give you an artificial tooth that is almost impossible to identify as “fake”. The techniques developed in the past decade have given prosthetic teeth a very convincing and powerful presence in the mouth. Techniques such as advanced computer modeling with the shape and curvature of a prosthetic tooth make them fit in very naturally with your existing teeth. The shading and subtlies of a natural tooth have been mimicked as well. In fact, many people think that their new dental implants look better than the one they replaced.

For the patient who is fearful of going into dental surgery we offer convenient  IV and oral sedation treatment options. With IV and oral sedation we can quickly and easily put you to sleep and perform the dental procedures while you peacefully sleep. IV and oral sedation is a great option if you feel scared about having oral surgery. If you are nervous about having dental surgery but don’t want to use sedation we can assure you that our treatments are gentle and that Dr. Stan is excellent at making you, the patient feel comfortable and at ease through the procedure.

In the world of dental implants the new technology and it’s accompanying benefits make getting a dental implant much more comfortable, quick, affordable, permanent and attractive than ever before.

If you have one or more teeth missing, Dr. Stan can permanently replace the affected teeth without the use of a bridge. If you need to use a bridge, or have an existing bridge that is suffering in integrity Dr. Stan can install dental implants to give support to the bridge that you never thought possible.

If you have dentures and are finding that they slide around in your mouth because of bone loss on your jaw Dr. Stan might prescribe a series of dental implants that your dentures can rest on. This method is remarkably effective in reducing denture slide and offering superior support for chewing with your dentures.

What is a dental implant?

A dental implant is a titanium post that is installed into your jawbone. It’s kind of like a screw that is precisely placed into a predrilled hole in your jawbone. The titanium implant, once installed, is then integrated into your jawbone through a natural process discovered by Swedish Scientists during the 1980’s. The process is called Osseointegration. In Osseointegraion the titanium implant actually fuses to your jawbone making a permanent and solid foundation for the next part of the dental implant, the abutment. An abutment is placed on top of the dental implant. The abutment offers the Dr. Stan the opportunity to swivel the abutment into a position the surface of the tooth needs to be in for the best performance of your new tooth. Finally, the last part of the dental implant procedure is the crown, or prosthetic tooth. The prosthetic tooth sits on top of the abutment. When finished the tooth is sitting on a solid foundation of titanium and bone. It’s permanence and functionality is without question.

In simple terms a dental implant is an artificial tooth root that a prosthetic tooth sits upon. Dental implants restore the natural look and function of the original tooth. Dental implants also help prevent bone loss and deterioration and help preserve the way a person looks by supporting facial structure. Facial structure can suffer when teeth are missing.
